EADIE SIMONS

IMPACT OFFICER

I joined the Northampton Town FC Community Trust in May 2023 as an Impact Officer.

My role as an impact officer is to evaluate and report on the impact our community programmes have on individuals and groups in the community. I support the team of project officers to monitor and evaluate their programmes, using data to drive improvement.

I am passionate about sport and physical activity and ensuring everyone has opportunities to engage in it. Using my research skills, I hope to support the continuous development of existing programmes to make a positive difference in the local community.

Q. What is your favourite football team?

A. The Cobblers (naturally)

Q. What is the best part of your current job?

A. Using different methods of data collection to highlight the positive impact our staff and programmes have in the local community. It’s great to share comments and feedback with my colleagues, that have come through about their hard work.

Q. What hobbies do you have outside of work?

A. My hobbies involve walking, cycling and swimming, but outside of sport I enjoy playing video games with my partner.

Q. What is your proudest moment?

A. In September 2020, my brother and I cycled from Northampton to Lincoln (where I was at Uni) to raise money for the charity Student Minds. I definitely underestimated the distance and terrain so was glad to make it there around 10 hours after setting off.

Q. What is your favourite sporting moment?

A. My favourite sporting moment would have to be England Lionesses winning the Euros last year.

Q. Name something people might not know about you

A. When I was younger I performed at the Royal and Derngate in a show called Half a Sixpence.

Q. What is your celebrity crush?

A. Chris Evans

Q. What is the biggest impact you have made in the community?

A. During my placement at Public Health Northamptonshire I conducted a rapid review of the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on children and young people in Northamptonshire. This was used to inform the direction of programmes and areas of focus within public health Northamptonshire and the local community following the multiple lockdowns.

Q. If you could be anyone for the day who would it be?

A. Kate Middleton

Q. What are your goals for the future?

A. I aim to continually develop my knowledge and skills in monitoring, evaluation and impact measurement to improve the trusts data collection and better highlight the importance of the work we do. If I’m able to turn this role into a full-time position I’ll be very happy, I enjoy the challenge that comes with data analysis and the evaluation of live programmes and hope to take it further.
